Focus on teaching quality

Our students perform better than students at comparable schools.

At SIA School, we believe that every child and young person has the potential to succeed, whatever their background.

High expectations and engaging teaching encourage students to take an active part in their learning. As a result, our students perform better than those at comparable schools.

A strong focus on reading

Reading is at the heart of learning. We help students become confident readers with broad vocabularies, critical-thinking skills and a lasting curiosity. Reading is embedded across the curriculum, and our staffed school libraries offer both scheduled reading sessions and opportunities to read during breaks. In 2025, our Year 4 students placed third and sixth in Bonnierförlagen’s national reading challenge for Year 4 classes.

Language-rich teaching

Our research-informed approach has been developed over several years to support language development in every subject. Mother-tongue teachers and study-support tutors play an active part in this work.

Technology, innovation and entrepreneurship

We encourage students to explore new technology, develop an entrepreneurial mindset and think creatively. In 2025, our students won first prize in an international innovation competition in South Korea.

Learning beyond the classroom

We regularly visit businesses, cultural organisations and public institutions, helping students connect their learning with the wider world.

Regular progress reviews

Our well-established monitoring system reviews student outcomes at least four times each academic year. This allows us to respond quickly when a student needs additional support or greater challenge.
